Everything that we see out there today started with an idea. A problem to solve. A need to be met. Anything that is built outside of that, doesn’t live long. Unless, it’s created from a dream. That’s what StageWood comes from. Tyket was born out of a dream. And dreams are the strongest reason to build something.

If you didn’t know, Stagewood was born out of the dream to help young artists have a standing chance to make it in the music industry. And this dream is a very personal one.

Our founder, Santiago Figuereo, was a pianist growing up. He spent years in the conservatory in his home country, Dominican Republic. But as every teenager does at some point, he had a decision to make. From a very young age he knew he wanted to be a doctor and help people. So when it came time to choose a career path, he had a decision to make.  Would he follow his passion for music, or would he follow the path of service AND least resistance? Well, he chose the path of medicine and the rest is history, or so he thought.

You see, he knew that following his passion for music would come with many hurdles. It would definitely be hard, and maybe even impossible to create a life for himself and his family with the earnings of a musician. So he chose, like many do, the path that would serve him and those around him.

But he couldn’t get past his passion for music. That is why, after many years of practice and many accomplishments in the field of neurosurgery, he decided it was time to look back at his passion and do something he couldn’t do as a young musician, help others who at some point face the decision he faced.

That’s where StageWood comes in, and that’s its purpose. We exist to help young talent have the support and resources necessary to make it in the industry.

  • From exposure through Tyket: fanbase growth, gig opportunities by connecting them with event producers, and more.
  •  Through support, education, representation, and connection with top industry experts through our StageWood Foundation.
  • Through our StageWood Corporation, artists will have even more opportunities to share their talent in our different venues.
  • An opportunity to reach the masses and become a superstar through our Tyklash competitions.

Everything we do in StageWood is created with the artists in mind, finding new ways to support them and ensure to the best of our abilities their success.

But we don’t stop there. Because we understand that living out your dream is not a luxury everyone is able to experience, and we know there are plenty of dreamers out there, we have expanded our reach to be able to help talent of other industries besides music, like sports, culinary and visual arts, among others.

Now, as we finish one of the most challenging years to date for the world as we’ve known it, we realize this is only the beginning. With an app launching Spring of 2021, a growing following base on all our social platforms, a virtual talent competition coming up, and an endless amount of talent to be helped, our founder’s dream, our dream, is only beginning to come to life. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, even in the face of adversity, and we know this is only the beginning not just for us but for the talent around the world that we’ll be helping.

So before the year ends, become part of our family. Become part of changing someone’s life. Or better yet, change your life. Share your story and your talent with us. Let us know how we can help you. Take the step to make your dream a reality.

Make 2021 the year your dream becomes a reality, like ours has.

Innovation in Times of Repetition https://stagewood.com/innovation-in-times-of-repetition/ Mon, 14 Dec 2020 21:50:34 +0000 https://stagewood.com/?p=218880

The saying goes “there’s nothing new under the sun”. And it certainly holds true for many things. One thing, though, we never thought it’d hold true for is social media. Unfortunately, now it does. What started out as one platform wanting to outperform or compete for attention, has now turned into a copycat situation that leaves every social media platform more and more like the rest. Except for the names given to their features, now the most popular social media platforms carry all the same features and look like clones with minimal variables.

The most recent copy comes from Twitter which now has Fleets, an obvious rip-off from Instagram’s stories. A feature Facebook took and incorporated to all of its platforms. But these aren’t original to Instagram, since the social media platform took the idea from Snapchat a few years ago. And Snapchat has also taken from Instagram’s reels with its new feature spotlight, which was Instagram’s way of competing with TikTok.

All this copying is for one reason only, to gather some of the engagement the platform being copied is enjoying. If a person is going to scroll through one app on their free app, every social media platform wants to ensure that it happens on their platform, even if it means copying features from other platforms to do so.

That’s what makes Tyket so special. Tyket is not copying other platforms, and there’s no other platform like Tyket. Here’s how.

First, Tyket’s users differentiate themselves through this: anyone can be a Tyket user, but no one that uses it is there without a reason. People come to Tyket to connect, but to connect with a purpose. Yes, friends follow each other, but they do so to finally answer the question “what’s going on tonight?”, which they can answer through our event finder. They can search for events together, make plans, buy tickets, and share their experience. All in one app.

But Tyket is also for artists. A place to discover new talent and support emerging artists grow. There they can showcase their art, connect with loyal and new fans, and connect with event producers that will open up new doors for them. These producers can search for talent and hire them right on the app, something they can’t do in any other mobile platform. Cue in blockchain technology and now transactions can take place on our platform with full transparency and without delay parties can be paid.

In a time when everything that exists in the social media space is a copy of a precious idea, we’re proud to provide a platform distinguished by its unique offer. Tyket is changing the entertainment industry, AND the social media game with its unmatched platform.

Invest in Tyket and help change the social media game for good.

Covid-19 News Update https://stagewood.com/covid-19-news-update/ Mon, 23 Nov 2020 19:53:34 +0000 https://stagewood.com/?p=218832

Must-Know News For This Monday

Another vaccine reaches 90% effectiveness in its trial period.

The vaccine being developed by Oxford University, and manufactured by AstraZeneca revealed the results of late-stage trials show their vaccine to have 70-90% effectiveness. This vaccine is different from those developed by Pfizer and Moderna in several ways.

First, AstraZeneca administered the vaccines in two different dosing regimens. First was a half-dose of the vaccine administered, then a full dose at least a month later. This regimen showed 90% efficacy. The other approach was two full doses given at least a month apart, which showed 62% efficacy, for a combined 70% efficacy for the vaccine.

The vaccine is also not required to be stored and transported in extremely low temperatures like the mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna, making it easier to send and store for distribution. The price is yet another way that it differentiates itself from the pack. AstraZeneca’s vaccine cost $2.50 a dose, compared to Pfizer’s $20 a dose cost, and Moderna’s $15-$25 cost per dose.

“We’re not thinking about vaccinations working in terms of one person at a time. We have to think about vaccinating communities, populations, reducing transmission within those populations, so that we really get on top of this pandemic,″
-Sarah Gilbert, a leader of the Oxford research team.

The results of these trials come from the U.K. and Brazil which involved 23,000 volunteers. Trials in late stage are also currently underway in the U.S., Japan, Russia, South Africa, Kenya, and Latin America.

Antibodies treatment approved for emergency use in treatment of COVID-19

One of the experimental treatments given to president Trump while he was battling coronavirus was just approved by the FDA for emergency use. This treatment, comprised of two antibodies, was developed by the biotech Regeneron and is the second antibody treatment to win the approval of the FDA.

The combination of casirivimab and imdevimab is administered through IV. When administered to 800 people in a clinical trial, it showed significant improvement and reduced levels of the virus within days of treatment.

The FDA has announced the approval is for mild to moderate cases of the virus who are high risk for developing more severe symptoms, ages 12 and older. This treatment is not for patients with severe symptoms who are hospitalized and need oxygen.

“We will continue to facilitate the development, evaluation and availability of COVID-19 therapies.”
-Dr. Patrizia Cavazzoni, acting director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research

The treatment is a synthetic version of human antibodies that mimic the immune system’s ability to fight off harmful pathogens, like those of coronavirus, binding it and preventing it from invading cells.

The company estimates that 300,000 doses will be given to eligible patients at no cost.

A vaccine – hope for the return of live entertainment https://stagewood.com/a-vaccine-hope-for-the-return-of-live-entertainment/ Mon, 16 Nov 2020 17:19:48 +0000 https://stagewood.com/?p=218810

Great news yet again! It is now Moderna who is announcing that it’s coronavirus vaccine is 94.5%. This after an analysis of its clinical trial. Like Pfizer’s vaccine, this was done through an independent group. And like Pfizer, it was done during phase three of its study, which Moderna has called the COVE study.

The study enrolled more than 30,000 volunteers and had a group who was administered the placebo, and another who received the vaccine. This vaccine is also administered in two doses, 28 days apart. However, the Moderna studies waits 14 days after the second dose is administered to start counting cases, while Pfizer waits only seven.

After the waiting period there were 95 cases, 90 coming from the placebo group and only five from the vaccinated group. Out of the 90 cases in patients who were administered the placebo, 11 were severe. That gives the vaccine a 94.5% efficacy.

“This positive interim analysis from our Phase 3 study has given us the first clinical validation that our vaccine can prevent COVID-19 disease, including severe disease,” said Stéphane Bancel, chief executive officer of Moderna, in a statement.

This vaccine, as well as Pfizer’s, are being created with new mRNA technology. This type of vaccine contains the code to create the coronavirus spike protein, key component to infect the cells. It is also what triggers a person’s immune system to create antibodies. The difference is it will not cause an infection because the rest of the virus is missing. The FDA has yet to approve a vaccine with this technology, still, Moderna plans to file with the FDA to be considered for emergency use.

Why is this great news? Because it means we’re even closer to gathering once again. To be able to enjoy our favorite sports and live events. It means we’ll soon be calling up friends and asking them “what’s going on tonight?” Without hesitation or fear for our health.
